graduated from Kindermusik and continued their musical studies in the Kristie Rue Piano Studio.
Last night Ryan and Derek, now 10 and 12 years of age, lead the way by giving our studio's first end-of-the-book recital. Ryan has completed Faber's Level 3B and Derek has completed the Celebration Series Level II. Each boy reviewed their favorite pieces from these books over the summer and ended the summer by performing their favorites for family members in their home. Ryan also elected to play a fun favorite, Cantina Band from Star Wars.
I loved the fact that they announced their pieces and offered a little commentary as they went along. I also loved the homemade icecream that their mom, Jan, served at the conclusion of the performance. Definitely, this was an excellent example of an end-of-the-book recital.
